Congrats To Mario for being the August Athlete of the Month! Here is a little more about Mario!

What makes you, you?

Well, I’m just a county boy from red bank S.C. I have a 6 year old son named Jacob. I work for World acceptance  as a supervisor over the Great Charleston District.

Describe your experience at CFNC.

My experience at CFNC has been superior. I have had 2 previous member ships at other boxes. 2 amazing  gyms with awesome coaches . However CFNC is all about safety, technique, and proper training. With the owners being active in the WOD programming and the coaching you can see a quality that you may not see at other boxes.

What has been your favorite CrossFit moment thus far?

I don’t have a favorite moment in CrossFit, but I can say every moment doing CrossFit is awesome!

What are your major life goals?

My major life goal? Well besides waking up everyday lol… It’s to inspire  people to do better. In my short time here I see people way to often fall short and never recover. Just a little inspiration goes a long way.

What are three of your current CrossFit goals?

3 goals. Hand stand walks, strict muscle, and my favorite beat Craig Jones in a WOD! Lol

What is your favorite WOD?

My favorite WOD is Cindy.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I could tell you where I see my self in 5 years and I may be right. However what I’ve learned in the past year and a half is that you really don’t know. I plan for my future however I live for today.

What is your favorite “cheat” meal?

My favorite cheat meal is red wine and vodka soda.

What do you hope to achieve through CrossFit?

I hope to achieve a healthy fit life style though CrossFit for the remainder of my life.

What is the most challenging aspect of CrossFit?

My biggest challenge with CrossFit was just letting go. It’s easy to get caught up in what everyone else is doing, “The board” stuff like that. When that happens sometimes you forget to focus on yourself. When I truly let go My lifts got better, I’m stronger, and my metcon times where faster.

Share a favorite recipe!

My favorite recipe is starts with peanut butter! Then I add a glass of milk  And that’s it.
