Congratulations to Jerry Mcrae, our May Athlete of the Month!!! Jerry has been with us since early on at CFNC and he is one of our most dedicated members. Athlete Profile: Jerry McRae

What makes you, you?
Born and raised Columbia SC. I also spent many years out west snowboarding, dirt biking, pretty much anything I could do to be outside.

Describe your experience at CFNC.
My experience at CFNC has been 100% positive, a mental and physical challenge. Everyone at CFNC works hard every day and that’s why I enjoy being a member.

What are your major life goals?
How do you think CrossFit will help you achieve them.

My goals are to live a healthy, active, stress/drama free life and make the most of everyday.

What has been your favorite CrossFit moment so far?
My favorite moment so far, when I was able to string some pulls ups together in a wod. I’ve been battling the bar well over a year. It’s a good feeling to make some progress on a movement that has your number!

What are your three major CrossFit goals?
RX majority of open wods in 2017.
Hspu and doubles, oh and c2b.
Improve clean technique. I need to increase the lb’s!

What has been your favorite CrossFit WOD and why?
There isnt one particular wod but I enjoy the Friday team chippers and anything that includes cleans.

On second thought, I like murph. No matter how in shape you think you are murph will pull you back into reality.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself staying active and doing whatever Grace is doing. Hopefully spending more time on my motorcycle.

Share a recipe for a favorite clean meal.
Salmon and veggies.
Cook salmon
cook veggies (squash, zucchini, asparagus, diced jalapenos my favorites)
Repeat if necessary.

What is your favorite cheat meal?
Brownies!! They’re a meal, right?

What is the most challenging aspect of CrossFit?
The daily grind, showing up when you’re tired and sore from the previous day’s workout.

What do you hope to achieve through CrossFit?
Sanity and staying mentally and physically healthy. Also maintaining my energy level and mobility as I get older.
