Congrats to our February Athlete of the month, Jen Chapman! I have know this lady for about 6yrs and she has always come in and worked hard inside and outside them gym! She has stepped out of her comfort zone this winter and completed her first marathon while still training CrossFit group classes! Learn a little bit more about her below:
What makes you, you?
I love corny jokes, listening to podcasts, reading, and running. I can be a little abrasive at times, but I have a lot of people in my life that I care about.
Describe your experience at CFNC.
Challenging but rewarding. My fellow nooners never disappoint when it comes to a good laugh and a great experience each day. Even though it might be at the expense of my buddy Francis. Ya know I love ya!
What are your major life goals?
Being debt free, those damn students loans.
Running a Spartan Race
Owning a small clinic/space to practice in my spare time
What are your 3 major CrossFit goals?
To be more efficient in general movement
To do better with the mental/attitude aspect
To get better at “gym-nasty” things
What has been your favorite CrossFit moment so far?
I have had a lot of great moments. But I’d have to say when I finally got a sub 6 Annie time. Two seconds counts! 😂
What has been your favorite CrossFit WOD and why?
DT – hang cleans are my fave.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Possibly working as a PT in the Air Force. If not, still working in Outpatient, working out, running as often as I can, and traveling more.
Share a recipe for a favorite clean meal
Ummmm….Glenn does the ALL of the cooking so no specific recipe. But my fave that he makes is Spicy Turkey Sausage and asparagus.
What is your favorite cheat meal?
A buffalo chicken pizza from Mod Pizza
What is the most challenging aspect of CrossFit?
Making it all the way down the floor on the warm ups. I may be guilty of skipping a few feet here and there.
What advice would you give to someone new to CrossFit?
Have fun. It’s about doing something you enjoy with good people and community.
What is your personal ‘walkout song’ or anthem?
Anything Eminem. But also, some Biebz
