What makes you, you? I guess being able to tell people the truth, even when they may not want to hear it. It comes in real handy as a coach… “I’m sorry, those weren’t RX push-ups so I’m going to put whatever those were as a mod.”
Describe your experience at CFNC? I came to CFNC looking for more structured programming. I got that and a great community that truly helps one another. I can honestly say that I look forward to seeing everyone every time I go to the gym. Whether it is to coach or workout, the positive atmosphere always makes it worth going.
What are your major life goals? Being a good husband and dad.
What are your 3 major CrossFit goals? Probably the same 3 I have always had… 10 UB Muscle UPS and a 200# Snatch, but mostly being fit enough to do whatever I want to do.
What has been your favorite CrossFit moment so far? Coaching the CFNC Regional team… especially the pep talk that motivated them to win their heat.
What has been your favorite CrossFit WOD and why? Grace was my first benchmark WOD so it has always been my favorite. I remember it taking me about 5 minutes with 95# th first time.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? I’ll be eligible to retire by then, so who knows… maybe full time gym manager at CFNC? But for now, let’s just focus on surviving 2020.
Share a recipe for a favorite clean meal. Grilled chicken marinated in Dale’s with rice and a vegetable (usually broccoli).
What is your favorite cheat meal? Pizza or Wings
What is the most challenging aspect of CrossFit? Not getting frustrated when life gets in the way of exercising for time.
What advice would you give to someone new to CrossFit? Stick with the basics and trust the process.
What is your personal ‘walkout song’ or anthem Eye of the Tiger!!
