What makes you, you?
My faith, my family and my friends have helped shape me into the person I am today. They are always pushing me to do and be better. I am “turtle like”, slow and steady wins the race. I like to observe and process before diving in. I love a to-do list and thrive to live calm and organized. NOW with all that being said, I have two little girls and a husband who are nothing like me!!! They love loud and chaos and I love them, so I’m learning to embrace the crazy.
Describe your experience at CFNC.
I have been at CFNC for just under 2 years. My Dad has been talking about this whole CrossFit thing for years and trying to talk me in to it for just as long. He knew I would love it once I started, and boy, was he right! I have felt right at home since Day One. Of course, Like most everyone, I went in nervous and with some preconceived notions, which quickly went away. Craig and Cara, thank you for building this community and this environment where we can come and get world-class training. I have loved getting to know the sport and getting stronger…physically and mentally.
What are your major life goals?
Well, my husband and I just bought our dream property in Ridgeville, so we are remodeling. So that is my first goal is to our house, second would be the best wife and mother I can be. The last would be to travel more.
What are your 3 major CrossFit goals?
Do a competition with my Dad
What has been your favorite CrossFit moment so far?
My favorite moments happen every gym day when I finish the WOD, get in my car and think, “Wow I just did that!” It still happens every day!
What has been your favorite CrossFit WOD and why?
Anything with a handstand walk! I was a gymnast years ago and even did vaulting in the horseback world (which is gymnastics on horseback) so I love anytime I get to work on a gymnastic skill.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Living my “country” lifestyle, raising my girls and getting fitter!

LIsten, I am going to be completely honest here…I do not cook. I mean, I’ve tried but it never ends well. I am fortunate to have a Husband and Momma who adore me and love to cook. So… you would have to ask them.
What is your favorite cheat meal?
What is the most challenging aspect of CrossFit?
The mental game.
What advice would you give to someone new to CrossFit?
Just show up, walk in the door, I promise you’ll love it once you do. Don’t compare yourself to others. Everyone’s on their own journey.
